Now that you have reached sixty, are you making specific plans for retiring? Have you realized that you have worked towards retirement since the day you received your first pay check, and the boss had taken the social security out of it? You have worked hard all of your life for retirement, and now it is just around the corner.

As you begin to finalize your plans for retirement, keep in mind that you must find something to do to keep yourself active so you can live longer. The worst thing you can do is retire and just sit in front of the television and eat. Many people look forward to retirement for years, stop working and don’t know what to do with themselves. They end up just sitting around, and within a short time, the doctor discovers an incurable disease or they simply die from boredom and inactivity.

Your retirement years should be the best years of your life. Keep that in mind when you consider how you will spend them. Volunteer opportunities abound for the retired. You can help out by using your previous work experience and knowledge or by sharing your love with needy children and home bound adults or those in nursing homes. Choose a neighbor that can no longer get out and take care of themselves, and do what you can to make their life pleasant and enjoyable.

In order to make the years of your retirement more fulfilling and healthier, continue to eat a healthy diet, exercise daily and to keep yourself feeling young, use anti aging products. With these goals in mind, you will enjoy life more and feel younger.

Really your diet shouldn’t change much in your retirement years if you have followed a healthy diet throughout your lifetime. If you are less active than before, cut back on your portion sizes, and eat six small meals a day to maintain a balanced blood sugar.

A great idea for snacking is to prepare a tray of different fruits and vegetables early in the morning. You can use cucumbers, carrots, bell peppers, cauliflower, broccoli and celery. Include a variety of fruits and berries, too. Put it in the refrigerator where you can snack from it whenever you get the urge. You won’t gain weight, and you’ll be boosting your immune system. Make sure you are getting plenty of vitamins, minerals and anti-oxidants by drinking juice from the acai and goji berries.

Exercise every day. Walking, swimming and yoga are great exercises for retirement. Purchase an exercise video that will get your heart rate up to do on days when you can’t get outside.

Use anti-aging creams that include anti-oxidants such as goji or acai berries, vitamin E or aloe vera. These ingredients contain a high amount of anti-oxidants that will eliminate the effect of free radicals on your skin. The added advantage is that they will make your skin supple and soft.

Now that you’ve reached retirement age, a whole new world of possibilities are open before you. Look for ways that you can influence and help people in your community. Stay active, be productive and thoroughly enjoy your retirement years. After all, you deserve it!
